A self catering cottage in the unique village of Thorpeness near Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The house sleeps 4 and has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Perfect for couples or a family. Beach 100m.
The cottage used to be 2 houses but was converted in 2007 to form one family home. There is a south-facing front garden, sitting room with comfy sofas, kitchen/diner with hand made units and granite worktops. At either end of the kitchen is a staircase leading up to a bedroom and bathroom. To the rear of the cottage is a private courtyard with table, chairs and bench.
Thorpeness was created by local land owner Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie in the early 1900s as a holiday resort for wealthy Edwardian families. The Regatta he initiated is still held every year in August with some of the best fireworks you will ever see!
The nearby towns include Aldeburgh, Leiston, Dunwich, Minsmere, Orford, Framlingham, Woodbridge, Walberswick and Southwold.
Thorpeness has its own golf course, tennis courts, Boating Lake (known as The Meare), Cafe, Inn and village shop.
